Live by The Competitor’s Creed (originated with FCA): At CPPA, we believe in competing with integrity and sportsmanship. The Competitor’s Creed reflects our values and guides us as we play and interact with others.

Our purpose is two-fold:

1. To build a network of Christian pool players who can fellowship with one another. The goal being to encourage and strengthen each other in the LORD.

2. To reach out to the many in the world of pool/billiards who do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, using pool as our tool for evangelism, with the ultimate goal of changed lives by leading them to a relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Competitor's Creed

I am a Christian first and last.
I am created in the likeness of
God Almighty to bring Him glory.
I am a member of Team Jesus Christ.
I wear the colors of the cross.
I am a Competitor now and forever.
I am made to strive, to strain,
to stretch and to succeed
in the arena of competition.
I am a Christian Competitor
and as such, I face my challenger
with the face of Christ.

I do not trust in myself.
I do not boast in my abilities
or believe in my own strength.
I rely solely on the power of God.
I compete for the pleasure of
my Heavenly Father, the honor of Christ
and the reputation of the Holy Spirit.

My attitude on and off
the field is above reproach –
my conduct beyond criticism.
Whether I am preparing,
practicing or playing;
I submit to God’s authority
and those He has put over me.
I respect my coaches, officials,
teammates and competitors
out of respect for the Lord.

My body is the temple of Jesus Christ.
I protect it from within and without.
Nothing enters my body that
does not honor the Living God.
My sweat is an offering to my Master.
My soreness is a sacrifice to my Savior.

I give my all – all of the time.
I do not give up. I do not give in.
I do not give out. I am the Lord’s warrior –
a competitor by conviction
and a disciple of determination.
I am confident beyond reason
because my confidence lies in Christ.
The results of my efforts
must result in His glory.

LET THE COMPETITION BEGIN.
LET THE GLORY BE GOD’S.

Building Connections Through Pool / Billiards

Join us at the Christian Pool Players Association build relationships and meaningful conversations through the game of billiards in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Here's how we us pool / billiards in our ministry:

Building Relationships:

At the Christian Pool Players Association, we see billiards as a marvelous opportunity to build both meaningful and strong relationships. The game provides a relaxed and social atmosphere where people can open up, share their hearts, and connect with one another. It's amazing how a friendly game of pool can break down barriers and foster meaningful conversations. The game allows us to support one another in our spiritual journeys to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. These connections with other Christians help us to grow in our faith and encourage one another in our walk with Christ.

Scriptures:

Proverbs 27:17 – "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another."

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 – "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!"

1 Thessalonians 5:11 – "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."

Hebrews 10:24-25 – "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

Outreach and Evangelism:

We use billiards as a unique tool for outreach and evangelism. We often get opportunities to reach individuals who might never set foot in a church. These events are great opportunities to share the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ with a broader audience.

Scriptures:

Mark 16:15 – "And he said to them, 'Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.'"

Matthew 4:19 – "And he said to them, 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.'"

Romans 10:14 – "How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?"

Colossians 4:5-6 – "Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

Mentorship and Discipleship:

The pool table provides an excellent setting for mentorship and discipleship. Spending time playing billiards with others allows us the opportunity to share our faith, offer prayer, guidance, and support to one another in our spiritual journeys. We are dedicated to investing in each other and growing together in faith.

Scriptures:

2 Timothy 2:2 – "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

Proverbs 9:9 – "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning."

Matthew 28:19 - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." In this spirit, we reach out and bring the message of salvation to all.

Community Engagement:

By our involvement in local pool leagues and tournaments, as well as national events, these events enable us to engage with our community, making everyone know we care about them and value them. Through these activities, we extend our ministry beyond the church walls.

Scriptures:

Matthew 5:16 – "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

1 Peter 3:15 – "But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect."

Galatians 6:10 – "So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith."

Personal Testimonies:

Our members often share their personal testimonies of how their faith in Jesus has impacted their lives, both on and off the pool table. These testimonies inspire others and demonstrate the transformative power of faith in Jesus Christ. These testimonies are a powerful witness to the world.

Scriptures:

Revelation 12:11 – "And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death."

Psalm 66:16 – "Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul."

Mark 5:19 – "And he did not permit him but said to him, 'Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.'"

Billiards is more than just a game for us—it's a powerful tool for ministry that opens doors to connection, outreach, mentorship, and community engagement. Together, we strive to glorify God in all that we do and use our love for billiards to share His love with others.
